SECOND WEEKLY REFLECTION

SECOND WEEKLY REFLECTION (27-07-2017 TO 30-07-2017)

This is the second week of my teaching practice.from the first week I realized that teaching is one of the most difficult activities I will perform in my life.  Knowing or understanding subjects does not necessarily mean I will be able to teach the subjects well.  To enhance students’ learning, I must create an appropriate learning environment through various teaching strategies and presentation methods.  There is no single best solution; I should continuously try new things and improve my teaching skills.

CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In this week, I had completed my 4 lesson plans. Due to holidays, we got only three working days this week. My teaching experience had really advanced compared to my first. I was able to create a really great atmosphere in my classrooms. The entry activity with pictures had greatly helped me to take the children in my hands and the rapport also made me to create a good relationship with the students.I made them share their opinions during our talk, this has really helped me to steal their heart.I learned many things through my student teaching experience, which will shape the way I teach for years to come. The group activity within groups made the children active in participating and engaging them with full interest. This has really helped me this weekend a successful classroom teaching practice . Prathibha miss came to our school as a part of the observation of the physical education students and signed our daily diary.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In this week on 29-07-2017 (Thursday), Mr. Advocate Raju, MLA came to inaugurate Manorama Balajanaseva Sakhyam, the largest student organisation in Asia in which we all joined the programme in the Auditorium.Sakhyam has played a great role in mending the youth of Kerala to confront the challenges of the present world and to behave as a well trained citizen. Sakhyam has given exposure to the talents of students in a great extent.

SELF REFLECTION

On this week I think I had improved a lot in teaching. In the class I tried to give some additional resources on advanced materials, ie, using attractive teaching aids for a thorough understanding of the subject. I learned a lot about teaching after this course. In my view, teaching is like a performing art. No amount of reading or attending workshops will prepare you for the challenge. You only get better with practice.
For all my inexperience, I hope I made at least a small contribution to the student's learning.
